I placed my first order with dangerousplants.com, was so very pleased with the size of the plants and the condition they arrived in. They were very carefully packed, and thus far have provided me with good results!

Thanks again for keeping me posted during the cold weather delay.

The tropical sundews and butterworts arrived today, and they look good given that they traveled through 40-degree weather with six inches of snow on the ground. They look very healthy and should have no trouble perking back up now that they're in a terrarium. The Drosera binata ssp. multifida look absolutely amazing, and I'm excited to see how they'll turn out as they get bigger.

Everything was very well-packed and nothing shifted around during shipping. I'm quite satisfied with my purchase and the accompanying service, and I'll definitely be ordering again just as soon as the weather improves (and I claim more space in the house for plants!).

Keep up the good work.

We really appreciated the quick response we got when dealing with Thomas Hayes. He was very knowledgeable in answering our questions and extremely fair in pricing and generous with plant material. The quality of the plants we received was excellent. We look forward to adding more of his "DANGEROUS PLANTS" to our collection in the future.

I've, been looking for N.Hamata for years, but it seemed like the only way I could get one would be to move to saluwesi! I tried ordering one LAST YEAR from a different company on the web, and I still haven't heard back from them! Ive tried the local CP store, but they couldnt help me either. HELLO! Heres MONEY!.......no takers.

Then I found DANGEROUS PLANTS. So I tried to call knowing I would get some weird answering machine or something ( I'm a pessimest, can you tell?) It was pretty late too, but someone picked up the phone! A LIVE PERSON!

Well, DANGEROUS PLANTS is not a "THEY", its Thomas Hayes, and He's a regular guy like you and me. Once again I couldnt beleive it. We had a great conversation. I asked all the questions I could think of, and then some. He said I f I thought of any more questions, just call back. THATS SERVICE!

I sent out a money order on Monday, and I had the package that Saturday!

Now Im pretty meticulous about stuff, but I couldnt have done a better job packing these plants. He actua! lly wrapped EACH PITCHER in styrofoam! Everything was taped in just right so it wouldn't get damaged, and then plastic bagged, and more styrofoam. A superb attention to detail! Nothing was damaged, nothing was squashed, and it wasnt all dried up. In fact, the plants didnt even go into shock, after being mailed accross the United States!

Thomas gave me descriptions of the plants before He sent them, and they were accurate. What more could I want?

Obviously I will be doing all my future CP buissness with Thomas Hayes. I can't recommend DANGEROUS PLANTS highly enough.

My Nepenthes are home.... and in their aquariums. ;-) And they are BEAUTIFUL! And BIG! I had no idea they would ever be this big; and this healthy and this beautiful! I read some of your references on your web site. The folks are sooooo right!!! And you have been so wonderfully informative and helpful. The N. gracilis looks a hundred times better than the pitiful Nepenthes I picked up at Lowes this last weekend.

It must have taken you over an hour to WRAP the plants. I've never seen such care taken. Thank you so much. I am soooooooo HAPPY with my little "babies". And rest assured... they will have a happy home. I've already started my list of plants I want next time from you. Thanks again for all your time, and the wonderful plants, and your wonderfully informative web site. Do I sound a little excited?????? I AM!!!!!!!!

Thanks again for these truly fantastic plants. I am very impressed by the size of the pitchers on the N. bicalcarata, love the coloration of the N. ventricosa pitchers, and am very excited about getting a chance to grow Genlisea...and to think on top of that there is the FREE N. khasiana also! I will definitely have to get more plants from you in the future.

I was extremely pleased with the plants I ordered from DANGEROUS PLANTS. The quality of their VTF's is outstanding. The plants were packaged very well and the selection of VTF forms is the largest I've heard of in the United States!! The Sarracenia were large and came in huge clumps with a strong root system. I will definitely order again from D.P. Thomas Hayes went out of his way to answer questions and help me choose plants. The plants I received are doing great. The plants are already growing and they aren't tiny plants like some cp nurseries send you. Thanks for the great plants and service!!!! And I love the pictures of vft mutants and lots of other CP!

I received my order today and was very pleased with the size and condition of the plants I purchased. I am already going through your sale pages again and selecting items for my next purchase, which will be within the week. It's very encouraging to doing business with a reputable person such as yourself. Thank you and I'll be in touch within the next few days.

I appreciate the efforts you have made to keep me up to date on our transaction. The plants arrived in good condition (although roughly handled).

{DP follow up question} In what way? I wrapped the plants individually with moist newspaper. Were they out of the pots or was something else wrong?

The rough handling that I mentioned was referring to the outside of the box itself. Because of your careful packing the plants were not harmed at all. Thank you for the info on the plants former growing environment. Looking forward to future transactions.

I have been mail ordering carnivorous plants since I was 12 years old. For the past 25 years, I have ordered from many different nurseries. Thomas Hayes and DANGEROUS PLANTS stand out from all the others in three different categories.

1. The amount of care and effort they put into packing the plants for shipping is incredible. Each plant is meticulously wrapped and padded to ensure that it does not dry out or get damaged in transit. I have absolutely never seen such a fine job packing plants.

2. They give an accurate size of the plants they sell. If a plant is listed as 18" in diameter, then it will be at least 18", but probably more. The plants are in excellent health, also. I have an N. ampullaria that produced multiple 2" basal pitchers just 6 weeks after receiving it!

3. Thomas Hayes displays incredible customer service skills. He stays on top of corresponding with his customers. He has been available via phone, email, and AOL's instant messanger.

If repeat business is an indicator of how good a mail order nursery is, then may I leave you with knowledge that I have just placed my third order in two months with DANGEROUS PLANTS.

I received the N. x Dwarf peacock today. I think you misled me on the description. I think it is BIGGER than you said! It arrived in real good shape with no broken or damaged leaves. Excellent packing job. Thanks!

The plants came in excellent condition. There was no damage to the plants and I was extremely surprised how healthy the plants looked, considering they traveled almost 3,000 miles! The red jaws flytrap form is one of the most beautiful flytraps I have ever seen. The pitcher plants look great. Thomas Hayes kept me informed on the shipping status of the package and they arrived the exact day he said they would. I will definitely order from DANGEROUS PLANTS again.

THANKS so much. I read about your good reputation on the cp listserv, but I was still pleasantly surprised when I opened my shipment. Usually I expect tiny plants in bad health or in full dormancy and barely a season old, but the specimens you sent me where, for the most part mature and in great condition. I was particularly happy with the fact that you sent the smaller fly traps in their own medium and pots to ease any potential "shock", and that even though the S. purpurea venosa was sent bare root, that appears only to be the case because the plant you sent was too large to include a pot of proper size. It was in generally good shape and much larger than I expected for the price and by mail order. Suffice it to say... I am very happy with my order and I can't thank you enough.

I have to echo the comments I have heard regarding DANGEROUS PLANTS. The plants arrived in very good condition, and Thomas Hayes gave advice on how to treat them to reduce the level of shock from the long journey. As for the quality, I was telling someone I met I had ordered Carnivorous plants over the internet. He was wary, saying he had been disappointed by CP mail order in the past, receiving plants that were much smaller than described. Not so with the plants I received, they actually exceeded my expectation!

Upon deciding to begin a carnivorous plant collection, I spent quite a bit of time searching for a reputable plant supplier with good stock and fair prices. I decided to order from Thomas Hayes at Dangerous Plants, as the site fits all of the above criteria. I certainly wasn't sorry. I ordered enough plants to fill two ten gallon terrariums, and I was elated with everything I received. Each plant was better looking than I had expected. The order was packed EXTREMELY well and not a single leaf was broken during shipment.

Perhaps the best thing about Dangerous Plants is the customer service that Tom provides. He takes the time to answer every question a customer may have in order to ensure that the plants he sends will thrive. His shipping was prompt and he called to keep me updated on the status of my order.

Now, approximately one month later, ALL of the plants Tom sent are doing wonderfully. As a matter of fact, I'm in the process of placing another order despite the fact that I'm running out of room for plants!

If you are serious about building a collection of carnivorous plants, or you're just a quality-obsessed plant enthusiast looking for a single plant, DANGEROUS PLANTS is the only way to go.
